The Cinnabar Star was the highest gallantry award which could be granted to commissioned officers of the Republic of Cinnabar Navy (Warrant Officers and enlisted personnel could be awarded the RCN Star in similar circumstances). It was a deliberately obscure medal, no bigger than a man’s thumbnail. The Cinnabar Star was a five-pointed star of red enamel mounted on a gold roundel.7:2
