The Kostroma system was a star system in the influence sphere of the Republic of Cinnabar.
Its inhabited planet was also called Kostroma. The Alliance of Free Stars tried to take control of the Commonwealth of Kostroma during a coup against Elector Walter III, but those plans were twarted by Lieutenant Daniel Leary of the Republic of Cinnabar Navy. (RCN1)
